Charity Shop
The Ashley Foundation now has its very own permanent Charity Shop, at 160 Central Drive, Blackpool, FY1 5EA. The shop opened for business on 16th April 2007 and our new Charity Shop Manager is Mrs Maureen Wyatt. Any donations will be gratefully accepted and the type of goods which we are looking for include:
Ladies', Men's and Children's Clothing and Shoes • Bicycles • Books • Toys and Games • Ornaments • Kitchenware • Videos, DVDs and Computer Games • Furnishings • Brick-a-Brack • Furniture
How can I make a donation to The Ashley Foundation Charity Shop?
The best way is to drop any items off at the charity shop during opening hours. If this isn’t possible, we may be able to collect them. Please call first and check before brining in any larger objects such as furniture to make sure that we have the space. For any queries or further information, please contact Maureen on (01253) 299687.
4 Things to think about when donating to a charity shop
- Charity shops work because they can sell items with a second life. Please check your donations are clean and functional e.g tears or broken zips on clothes or missing chapters in books!
- You are helping a good cause AND the environment. Re-use is even better than recycling
- If you have more specialised items, for example electrical goods or furniture, it is best to check that the charity shop can accept theses items for re-sale before donating
- If you are not sure whether your clothes can be re-sold, donate them anyway, whatever clothes the charity shop don’t sell can always be passed onto our residents.
